Job growth in Canada halted in Q2, 1.5 million human-led convos this year!
Hi everyone,
This month, we'll focus on hourly & high volume hiring and we'll discuss key headlines from around the recruitment industry.
🗞️ Headlines
Job growth in Canada halted Q2 with major losses in certain sectors like Manufacturing (-6,020 jobs), Retail (-4,000 jobs), Wholesale (-3,000), Hospitality (-4,800).
These sectors saw the biggest gains: Healthcare (+5,700), Education (+2,900), Public Administration (+2,200).
However, more than half (55%) of employers worldwide are planning toincrease headcount over the next two years.
đź’ˇKey Takeaways from HR.com's State of Hourly & High Volume Report
I mentioned in a previous post that we’ve partnered with HR.com to deep dive into the current state of high-volume and hourly hiring.
The report is available to view on our website here (ungated), but I wanted to share some key findings.
Here are 5 intriguing data points:
77% of companies are engaged in high-volume recruitment or have done so in the past. High-volume hiring is a permanent fixture!
Over 52% of organizations outsource parts of their high-volume recruitment process. Partnering with experts can significantly boost your hiring efficiency.
65% of high-volume hiring leaders automate as much of the recruitment process as possible. Embrace technology to streamline and speed up your hiring!
44% of respondents consider full capabilities on mobile devices crucial for high-volume recruitment. I’m surprised this isn’t 100%
More than half of organizations use pre-hire assessments to ensure candidate fit and improve hiring outcomes. Implementing these assessments can elevate your recruitment strategy.
Real-world example: We’re certainly no stranger to automation and pre-hire assessments in the recruitment process. We rely heavily on programmatic advertising and SMS-baed marketing for sourcing. It’s how we’ve had 1.5 million human-led conversations with candidates this year (something I’m very proud of).
That’s it for now - we’ll see you in the next edition!
